What do you think is Art Therapy's greatest need to survive and flourish?
This has been a question of debate, and a good place to start with our movement forward for Art Therapy. The responses given to this question on facebook have been as follows:
Increase in evidence-based art therapy research.
An aggressive public awareness campaign.
Being a model and a voice for the creative and intuitive in all encounters.
Advocacy for the profession in federal and state government. A unified vision for the profession.
Insurance reimbursement for art therapy services.
A very distinct professional code in the employment data bases.
More state licensure for Art Therapists.
Standing in your truth, staying out of against-ness, manifesting vision and value.
Educating the public about the benefits and uses of Art Therapy.
What do you think Art Therapy needs? Do one or more of the above ideas strike you as important? Which ideas do you feel you could act on and motivate behind?
