Welcome to Occupy Art Therapy!

Welcome!
This is a movement born out of a linkedin discussion, where a group of Art Therapists shared concerns about the future of Art Therapy and started brainstorming ways to take Art Therapy's future into our own hands and keep it thriving.
Since then, I created a facebook page on which to mobilize: as of now that reaches 178 "friends" and a total of 322 people weekly. After hearing from a growing group of people who don't want to participate in facebook, I am creating this blog as a way to offer a place to converse to a broader digital audience.

Vision: Reclaiming the Profession of Art Therapy
Mission of Occupy Art Therapy:
This is a site for Art Therapists and Art Therapy supporters who seek new ways to promote the field. It is also a public forum for Art Therapists and their supporters to brainstorm ways to increase jobs and visibility for art therapists.

I will post some of the information already posted on the facebook page to keep the two Occupy AT places at pace with each other.
